Ken Greenbaum opens Ken’s Suburban Furniture on Bellevue Way with two employees, in a former church building.
Relocates north on Bellevue Way to the building later known for Pier 1 Imports.
Opens at today’s Bellevue location beside I-405 as the Bellevue Furniture Center, home to both Ken Schoenfeld Furniture and Ken’s Suburban Furniture.
Acquires the Ken Schoenfeld Corporation, combining into a 44,000-sq-ft showroom and adding Lynnwood and Tacoma locations; the name changes to Greenbaum Home Furnishings.
Acquires Levins Home Furnishings in Bellingham.
Opens a 40,000-sq-ft facility in Woodinville for delivery, service, receiving, shipping, and inventory storage.
Acquires Ken Schoenfeld Furniture of Parkway Plaza and closes the Bellingham location.
Consolidates operations to Bellevue; Lynnwood, Tacoma, and Tukwila stores close.
Participates in the “Quality Street” tour of homes in Newcastle.
Ken retires; Cindy, Steve, and Jon continue running the business. The team also contributes to ABC’s Extreme Home Makeover in Port Orchard.
Marks the 50th anniversary and upgrades to ceramic-halide lighting—cutting emissions while saving energy costs.
Remodels the showroom and landscaping; voted “Best of Bellevue” by the Bellevue Reporter.
Repeats “Best of Bellevue”; many employees have been with the family 20+ years.
Voted “Best Furniture Store” by the Bellevue Reporter for a third consecutive year.
Readers of 425 Magazine vote Greenbaum “Best of 425” for furniture stores.

Donates $25,000+ of furniture to Bellevue’s Olive Crest office.
